About Me

Aneta Merlino, MS., LMFTA

Hi, my name is Aneta Merlino and I provide mental health counseling to couples, families and individuals of all ages. I am passionate about and strive to provide access to quality, reliable and non-pathologizing counseling services in an effort to destigmatize mental health treatment and conditions.

My background consists of a Bachelor of Art in Psychology and a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy. Prior to starting a private practice my clinical experience included providing support to couples and families in both community mental health and group practice settings, where I witnessed how powerful and healing being in an authentic connection with self and others can be.

As a clinician I am trained in and draw upon the following treatment modalities: Emotionally Focused Therapy, Experiential Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Mindfulness Techniques. For clients looking to process traumatic experiences I am an EMDR trained therapist and can offer this modality in addition to talk therapy.

When working with me our work is always collaborative and meant to empower you. I seek to provide care and treatment that is a match to who you are and what brings you in. I believe in transparency and intend for our work to create long lasting positive change or healing, rather then symptom cessation.

Engaging in therapy can be life changing. Please know wherever you are in this process, I very much look forward to connecting to gain more understanding about your needs. Please get in touch by emailing a brief message letting me know the general reason you are seeking support and times you are able to connect for a brief 15 minute call.
